Hilary Scott prospective candidate for Kent County Council, Canterbury North Division; (which includes Chartham Hatch, Chartham, Chestfield, Blean, Rough Common, Tyler Hill and the rural areas in between).
Hilary is dedicated to serving the local community which she has done as Chair of the Aphra Behn Society of Canterbury, as a flood warden, a Parish Councillor, School governor and Director of education charity Invicta National Academy. She will be a strong voice for residents on the County Council and reflect their concerns. Particularly, where there are issues of infrastructure relating to development. She believes in building in the right places but is passionate about defending our green spaces and biodiversity, and integrity of our villages. She believes good arable land should be preserved for domestic food production. Drawing on her career in finance she will continue the good work the Conservative led KCC has done to make sure there is sound financial management at a time when some Councils have been going into administration and putting up Council taxes beyond the legislated amount of 5%.
