Labour are trashing two decades of cross-party progress on education to appease militant teaching unions.
Who are more interested in ideology than results.
Their schools bill would weaken standards, abolish academies in all but name, and make it harder for bright kids from poor backgrounds to get ahead.
Labour are removing single word Ofsted judgements so parents can't see standards slipping. And the bill would limit the freedom of academies to bring outside experts into teaching.
It's an attack on excellence, an attack on higher standards, and it's an attack on aspiration. It's deprived children who will pay the price.
Recently Kemi Badenoch and the Shadow Education Secretary, Laura Trott, visited an academy in Bromley.
To speak to pupils and teachers there about how important academies are to driving improvement in our schools.
