Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is continuing to provide immediate support for vulnerable people over the coming months.
From today, over eight million households will begin receiving their second £300 cost of living payment.
There's more
Inflation eats into the pounds in your pocket and makes everyone poorer.
Thanks to the decisions this government has taken, we’ve seen inflation rates fall consistently since May. We will continue to push to halve it this year.
And as we do that, our support continues
This includes measures like the £2 bus fare cap, which we are keeping in place until December 2024.
Thanks to money redirected from HS2 into Network North, we’re able to keep bus fares down, meaning bus travel will continue to be accessible and affordable for all.
We’re also helping vulnerable households across the UK with their energy bills over winter.
On top of Pensioner Cost of Living Payments, Winter Fuel Payments could provide pensioners with up to £600 to help with heating costs.
This builds on the significant cost of living support we've provided to eligible households throughout last year – now worth on average £3,330 per household.
