Canterbury City Council’s Labour/Liberal coalition have given in to the union demands and the bin strike is finally over. “Hard-working, elderly and vulnerable residents have been badly let down for more than two months. They pay council tax to have their waste collected and deserve the services they pay for. It's unacceptable to leave people with uncollected rubbish at any time”.
The cynical and political games played by the hard left unions have been at the expense of hard-working, vulnerable and elderly residents. The bin strike has sadly damaged a lot of previous work done to improve recycling rates.
As is usual with the Labour Party/Liberal Democrat Party, they run councils badly, whether ‘alone’, or ‘together’, with residents paying more and receiving worse services.
See link below for information about when your recycling will start being collected again.
