Rishi Sunak and I have announced an £8.3 billion boost for roads – enough to resurface over 5,000 miles of road and the largest ever funding increase for the improvement of local roads.
Well-maintained road surfaces save drivers up to £440 each in vehicle repairs.
So fixing Britain's roads, and ensuring motorists keep more cash in their pocket, is one of my top priorities as Transport Secretary.
For Kent County Council this funding package includes £4,296,000 in additional road repair funding next year and at least £134.5 million over the next decade.
